![]() ![]() I've only been thinking of it in terms of 7-9. Now if 9 ends with Kylo being redeemed, and episode 10-12 being about defeating Plagueis, I'll be snoked! And I'll leave like promised. I just feel Plagueis would be to great of a villain to waste as second fiddle to Kylo. It'll be interesting to see how they might explore (or not) Kylos relationship with his parents in future films. Having Leia abandon him may have made it worse. If Han saw to much Vader, he may have been very disconnected with his son, being reminded of the man that tortured him. Kylo implies that he was absentee as a father, and that may well be true. Since we all love Han Solo we imagine him being a great dad. That's certainly interesting to think about. Kylo Ren: "Tell me more about the time he killed those kids, killed my grandma, tortured my mom and blew up a whole planet?" ![]() Grandpa told Luke that he was right about everything before he died and then we had a nice funeral with the Ewoks." "Anakin was a hero when he was young, stopped many bad guys but during his adult years, he had a rough patch - joined with the wrong crowd, did some nasty stuff, but your uncle Luke helped him clean up your granddad's act and grandpa switched back to the good side and threw that evil Palpatine down the shaft. For example, how does one sum up Anakin to your grandson? So basically Kylo Ren is a rebellious sick f*ck. If that turns out to be the case, my enthusiasm and hope for this franchise will be restored. Still think The Force Awakens ( to me at least) will turn out to be ANH as a modern retelling with more action and better characters. That cannot be argued, what can and HAS been argued since it came out is the quality of the film. It's a slow burn film that launched a global phenomenon. I just can't believe how many people want to act like it was a perfect film when it had so many flaws. Take that further and if SW: ANH were released today it probably would be crucified relentless. Imagine a scenario that TFA was released in the vacuum without all the prior SW films or other Sci-Fi films and the reception would certainly be very different. Something I feel that Sci-Fi fantasy fans with the advent of electronic social interactions has increased the effect of excessive criticism. The OT has plenty of issues that we gloss over, but years distance and the power of nostalgia supersedes those critiques. Standing orders not to fire unless there was a clear and present danger? ![]() Potentially because turbo lasers rounds are expensive?ĭid not want to have to deal with the extra paper work? I believe R2-D2 is to have had a hand in that droid malfunctioning.Īs others have mentioned the number one moment plot convenience is the gunners holding their fire. ![]()
